Did Fashion Education Sell a False Job Perspective to Students?
Has a graduated student from one fashion school, with a degree in pattern and fashion design, i can assure, that the job prospect is inferior from the one you're been told. Yes, is an strong industrie, with thousand of millions in the global economy, but in order to be part of one mayor company, or at least get a middle job for enter and star to grow has a professional, is, well do not tell us lies is pretty hard and sometimes kind of impossible.
-"there is currently an imbalance of supply and demand for design graduates" -
This phrase remind me an important issue for the students, we have to admit it's a 100% true. The education system applied for fashion careers, isn't enough, many of the schools focus on the creative habilite for each designer, is not a bad decision, but this create a big problem at the moment of applying for a job in the industrie, without any experience or knowledge on the administration and sometimes retail market. At the same time, there's the internship or first job matter, only a few colleges understand and support the graduated students after they left, plenty of those have directs connections with companies that guaranteed a position with job growth or a time training.
At the end the global recognition and influence of each fashion school is deep down of importance, the true value in education now is the job training and connections that can assure a life after college in the fashion industrie.
